Meet one of the producers of the cult-hit TV show Father Ted. In her nostalgic, warm-hearted memoir Lissa Evans reveals the challenges of the job and a shares a hilarious montage of some of her most treasured Father Ted moments, from clerics crashing through windows to runaway milk floats. Lissa is in conversation with author Clare Chambers.
After studying medicine at Newcastle University, Lissa Evans worked as a junior doctor for four years, before deciding to change to a career in which she wasn’t terrified the entire time; a job in BBC Radio light entertainment followed, then a switch to television, where she produced and directed series including ‘Room 101’ and ‘Father Ted’, for which she won a BAFTA. Lissa is the author of heart-warming, funny novels including Old Baggage, V For Victory, and Small Bomb at Dimperley, among others, plus four novels for children.
