Artist Ben Edge has travelled Britain recording weird and wonderful folk customs that come alive in communities all over the country. He shares stories, anecdotes and legends with host Caroline Millar, and talks about how connecting with living folklore helped him recover from depression.
Ben Edge is an artist and musician interested in folklore and story telling. He has travelled extensively up and down Britain gathering source material and responding to his research through paintings and a full length documentary film that both captures and documents the thriving, yet often overlooked folklore traditions of contemporary Britain. This body of work titled 'Frontline Folklore' was exhibited in London in an exhibition titled 'Ritual Britain' that attracted over 10,000 visitors.
Caroline Millar is a writer and teaches at Canterbury Christ Church University. She is interested in estuarial edgelands.
