A sonic alchemist to the stars, Brian Eno's address book is a veritable who's who of rock and pop. On Some Faraway Beach is the first serious, critical examination of his life and music, from an idiosyncratic childhood to 1960s art school and the sharp end of pop charts around the world. The book's author, David Sheppard, will be talking to to Whitstable music journalist Michael O'Connell.
David Sheppard is a well-respected music journalist. He’s written for numerous publications, including Mojo, Q, Uncut and the Observer. He’s the author of two previous biographies of Leonard Cohen and Elvis Costello.
Michael O'Connell works in books and media in various guises. He runs a monthly series of popular multi-media lectures called Art Decades, exploring the way music and art have converged over music history, as exemplified by artists such as Brian Eno. Michael lives in Whitstable.
