The story of a young Syrian refugee woman who lives in Shatila, one of the world's oldest refugee camps, told by Meike Ziervogel, co-founder of an NGO for refugees in the Middle East. Meike talks to Daniel Hahn about how her writing draws on experience of working with displaced persons, and her own past.

Meike Ziervogel is a writer and publisher who grew up in northern Germany and came to London to study Arabic language and literature. She has worked as a journalist for Reuters in London and Agence France Presse in Paris; and founded Peirene Press, an award-winning independent publishing house. In 2012 Meike was voted one of Britain's 100 most innovative and influential people in the creative and media industries for the Hospital Club 100 list.
