Author, Guardian columnist and broadcaster Polly Toynbee has written for the Observer and the Independent, worked as BBC social affairs editor, and been an editor at the Washington Monthly. She has won numerous awards including a National Press Award and the Orwell Prize for Journalism.
David Walker is contributing editor of Public, the Guardian’s website for senior managers of public services. He is a member of council at the Economic and Social Research Council, a trustee of the Franco-British Council and a visiting professor at City University, London. With Polly Toynbee he is author of The Verdict, Did Labour change Britain?
